Rheumatoid

The rheumatoid profile I is a diagnostic blood test designed to evaluate various markers related to rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory conditions. This profile provides essential information for diagnosing rheumatoid arthritis and assessing the extent of inflammation in the body. Who is this profile for? This test is suitable for individuals experiencing symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, such as joint pain, stiffness, swelling, and fatigue. It is also recommended for those with suspected autoimmune conditions or who need to monitor ongoing inflammatory conditions. What can be detected? The rheumatoid profile I assesses a range of markers that help diagnose and manage rheumatoid arthritis and related inflammatory disorders: Full blood count (FBC) + differential: Provides a comprehensive overview of blood cells, helping to identify signs of inflammation or anemia. Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR): Measures the rate at which red blood cells settle in a test tube, indicating the level of inflammation in the body. Rheumatoid factor (RF) quantitative: Detects the presence of rheumatoid factor, an antibody commonly found in rheumatoid arthritis patients. Uric acid: Measures the level of uric acid in the blood, which can help diagnose gout, a condition that may present with symptoms similar to rheumatoid arthritis. Antinuclear antibodies (ANA): Identifies the presence of antibodies that may indicate autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. C-reactive protein (CRP): Assesses inflammation levels in the body, providing insight into the severity of inflammatory processes. When to get tested Consider this profile if you are experiencing symptoms consistent with rheumatoid arthritis or other inflammatory conditions. It is also useful for monitoring disease progression or response to treatment if you have been diagnosed with a related condition. Fasting requirements Fasting is not required for this test. However, it is important to follow any specific instructions provided by your healthcare provider to ensure the accuracy of the results. Key benefits The rheumatoid profile I offers a comprehensive evaluation of various markers associated with rheumatoid arthritis and inflammation. By identifying and quantifying these markers, the test supports accurate diagnosis, effective monitoring, and appropriate management of rheumatoid arthritis and related conditions, helping to improve patient care and overall health.

No, there is no need for a doctor’s request to book. However, it’s recommended to discuss your symptoms with your GP.
No lab test is 100% accurate. However, medical testing that takes place in certified laboratories in the U.S. is performed by trained professionals and follows rigorous quality assurance standards with extensive oversight. You can trust the data generated by today’s exacting medical tests. However, test results are most reliable when used in conjunction with other meaningful information, such as your medical and family histories and a physical exam. Additionally, there should be open communication between you and your doctor or other members of your health care team.
Turnaround time for most of the tests is up to 24 hours, however the tests such as genetic, virology, STI’s… will take from 5 days to 2 weeks
Typically, a blood sample is taken by inserting a needle into a vein, usually in your arm. Before your blood is drawn, an elastic band is tied around your upper arm to increase blood in the veins, and the puncture location is wiped clean with an antiseptic. A blood draw using a needle may cause a temporary sting. The blood draw normally lasts for less than a minute.
