Why is my booking provisional?

A consultation needs a short medical review before it goes ahead. Once you book, we email you a consultation form. Our doctor reviews it and confirms your appointment. If another service would suit you better, we will let you know.

What if I have urgent symptoms?

MedLabs does not provide emergency care. If you have chest pain, difficulty breathing, stroke symptoms or any other emergency, call 999 or go to A&E. For urgent advice that is not an emergency, call NHS 111.

Do I need a GP referral?

No. You can book directly with us. You only need to complete the consultation form before your appointment is confirmed.

Will I definitely get a prescription or a test?

Not necessarily. A consultation does not guarantee a diagnosis, prescription, test or referral. Your doctor will recommend what is clinically appropriate for you. MedLabs issues private prescriptions only.

Is a video consultation right for me?

Video works well for many concerns, but it may not be suitable if you need an examination or tests. If so, your doctor can arrange an in-clinic appointment instead.
