Welcome to MedLabs Diagnostic. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, mobile applications, services, and facilities (collectively, the “Services”). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms.

1.Introduction

1.1 These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by MedLabs Diagnostic (“MedLabs”, “we”, “our”, “us”) to clients (“you”, “your”).
1.2 By booking or attending an appointment, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
1.3 MedLabs reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. The latest version will always be available on our website or by request.

2. Nature of Our Services

2.1 MedLabs Diagnostic is a health screening and testing provider offering ultrasound scans, blood tests, and other diagnostic investigations.
2.2 MedLabs does not provide medical treatment, or management of any condition.
2.3 You must always consult your GP or another qualified medical practitioner for interpretation, diagnosis, and treatment based on your results.

3. Ultrasound Scans

3.1 All ultrasound scans at MedLabs Diagnostics are carried out by appropriately trained and

competent sonographers, which may include:

● Clinicians who are HCPC-registered (e.g., radiographers, sonographers), and

● Suitably qualified sonographers who meet the organisation’s competency, training,

and governance requirements.

3.2 All practitioners work under MedLabs Diagnostics’ regulatory governance framework,

which includes:

● Verified training and competency assessment

● Ongoing CPD monitoring

● Peer review and audit (including monthly report audit)

● Clear escalation pathways for complex or abnormal findings

● Professional indemnity coverage

● Oversight by the Clinical Governance Lead

3.3 MedLabs Diagnostics complies with CQC requirements for Diagnostic and Screening

Procedures (DSS), and with professional guidance from BMUS, SoR and RCR regarding

ultrasound practice and reporting standards.

4.Laboratory Testing

4.1 Certain samples may be processed by third-party laboratories on behalf of MedLabs.

4.2 These laboratories are UKAS-accredited for specific tests and parameters.

4.3 Where any part of a test or analysis falls outside the laboratory’s UKAS accreditation

scope, this will be clearly indicated on your laboratory report.

4.4 All partner laboratories are selected for their quality and compliance with good laboratory

practice.

4.5 Where a specific test, parameter, or component of a profile falls outside the laboratory’s

UKAS accreditation scope, this does not mean that the test is unreliable or invalid.

It only means that the laboratory has not yet undergone UKAS assessment for that specific

assay (test), and the result is issued under the laboratory’s general governance framework

(including quality control, validation, verification and proficiency testing which adheres to

internationally recognised quality frameworks of International Organization for

Standardization).

4.6 If any part of your test profile falls outside the UKAS scope, this will always be clearly

indicated on your laboratory report (e.g., with an asterisk or annotation).

MedLabs does not describe or advertise any test as “UKAS accredited” unless every

component of that test profile falls fully within the partner laboratory’s published UKAS

scope.

4.7 All partner laboratories operate robust quality management systems aligned to ISO

15189 standards, regardless of whether a specific assay is currently within the UKAS

accreditation cycle.

This ensures that all results—whether accredited or non-accredited—are produced using

validated methods, calibrated equipment, and appropriate quality assurance procedures.

4.8 Accreditation status does not constitute a clinical interpretation of results.

Patients experiencing ongoing or new symptoms are advised to seek medical assessment

regardless of their laboratory findings.

4.9 By purchasing testing services from MedLabs, you acknowledge and accept that:

Some tests or sub-tests may be outside the UKAS accreditation scope.

This does not affect the clinical validity or reliability of your results.

Accreditation is not a requirement for a test to be considered diagnostic or clinically

acceptable; Interpretation of symptoms must be performed by a qualified healthcare

professional.

MedLabs is not responsible for any delay in treatment resulting from a patient

choosing not to seek medical advice. If symptoms continue or recur, you must

consult a qualified healthcare professional.

5. Results and Follow-Up

5.1 Test and scan results will be sent to you (and/or your referring clinician) as agreed at the

time of booking.

5.2 MedLabs Diagnostics does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or clinical follow-up.

regardless of whether your result is normal or abnormal, particularly if you have ongoing
