Thyroid Profile I
The Thyroid Profile test is designed to assess the function of your thyroid gland, which plays a vital role in regulating metabolism, energy levels, and overall health.
What is the Thyroid Profile I?
- TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone): This hormone is produced by the pituitary gland and signals the thyroid to produce T3 and T4. Abnormal TSH levels can indicate thyroid dysfunction.
- Free T3 (Triiodothyronine): Free T3 is the active form of thyroid hormone that helps regulate various metabolic processes. It provides insight into how well your thyroid is functioning.
- Free T4 (Thyroxine): Free T4 is the precursor to T3 and is another hormone produced by the thyroid. It’s crucial for controlling energy use and maintaining metabolism.

How to prepare
Sample Timing
Attend between 7am and 12pm where possible. Wait until any illness has fully resolved. Avoid intense exercise for 24–48 hours beforehand, as this can affect certain markers.
Fasting & Hydration
Fasting is not always required, but some tests may recommend it. If fasting is advised, avoid food for 8–12 hours and drink water only. Stay well hydrated for accurate sample collection.
Medications & Supplements
Continue prescribed medications unless advised otherwise. Avoid vitamin, mineral, or biotin supplements for at least 24–48 hours before your test, as these can interfere with results.
Hormones & Menstrual Cycle
For hormone-related tests, timing within your menstrual cycle may be important. Follow the specific guidance provided in your booking confirmation email.
